Friday 18th September – A presentation by the Trustees on your hall’s future followed by a question and answer session and a vote – 7.30 - 9.00 pm
Friday 2nd October – Workshop - Group sessions to discuss sustainability, reusing materials, outside landscaping, and the carbon footprint of the new village hall – 7.00 - 9.00pm

The District Council and County Council have each awarded the Village Hall £35,000, a fantastic £70,000 in total. The Parish Council has raised the precept, to give its support to the project, by £6000 over three years and another application to the District Council is in progress.
The Hall Committee has been granted over £25,000 in charitable donations.
Local people have already raised an amazing £66,000 since May 2008 through the appeal and lots of fund raising, and very fun, events.
So already over £167,000 has been secured. Other grant applications of over £90,000 are in the pipeline.
A member of the fundraising committee explained “We’re absolutely thrilled at the support we’ve been given all the way through by Alice and Tim at South Somerset District Council and the support of our councillor Maili Felton has been invaluable. The village has done a great deal towards the fundraising too. We will complete a major village hall improvement project in excess of £250,000 starting in February 2010.”
Sue Parroy, chairman said “ We are delighted at the way everyone has worked together to get this far and we have appointed Slade Parry of Yeovil to guide us through the building programme. Slade Parry have lots of experience of village halls and were involved with the new hall at Hadspen which opened last year. Any contractors interested in quoting for the work should get in touch with Mike Priddle at Slade Parry.”
